During my senior year of high school I was the editor of my school's newspaper The Lookout. I wrote for the newspaper during my sophomore and junior years, as I watched the readership and popularity of the paper decline drastically. My junior year the editors printed the paper on printer paper and stapled it together like a packet. I couldn't stand to see the quality of the paper declining so drastically so I did something about it. My senior year I became the leader of the newspaper and worked hard to successfully get it back to where I wanted it to be. I learned to use InDesign and individually created each months layout on the program. I also organized fundraiser events to raise enough money so we could afford to print it on actual newspaper. I also mentored younger writers and helped with articles to ensure the content was high quality as well. I have uploaded the final two issues of the year below and they can be downloaded by clicking on them.
