_Hello, I am Jon Banister and I am studying Journalism at the University of Maryland, graduating in May 2016. I have created this site to keep a collection of all of my published clips.
I am currently interning for Meet the Press in NBC's Washington bureau, helping producers with research for interviews and segments. In fall 2015 I was a reporter for Capital News Service in the Washington bureau covering Martin O'Malley's presidential campaign and the Maryland Senate race. This past summer, I interned at MSNBC and learned a plethora of video and digital skills. For two years I was a senior staff writer with The Diamondback, covering state and national politics. Two summers ago, I interned as a reporter at the Prince George's Sentinel, and the summer before that I interned at the Waltham News Tribune.
